Welcome, Class of 2027
The Class of 2027, hailing from 29 states, the District of Columbia and four international countries, began their law school journey last week. With impressive academic credentials and diverse backgrounds, this year鈥檚 entering class prepares to become principled leaders in the law profession.
The 212 incoming students began their 草榴社区 experience on August 20, arriving at Scarpa Hall for three days of orientation activities. On the first day, students were welcomed by The Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, 鈥75 CLAS, University President and Mark C. Alexander, the Arthur J. Kania Dean.
鈥淵ou are here because you are optimistic about the future and what you might achieve as one who is not only committed to the rule of law but understands it and knows how to apply it,鈥 said Dean Alexander during his remarks. 鈥淎t 草榴社区 Law, we share that commitment and the desire to create positive change.鈥
During the rest of orientation, students also took the professional oath, administered by 草榴社区 Law alumnus Hon. Collins Seitz, Jr. 鈥83, marking their official entry into the legal profession. On days two and three, students engaged in mock classes, participated in health and wellbeing seminars and became acquainted with classmates. Their introduction to 草榴社区 Law culminated in a community picnic sponsored by the Alumni Association with faculty, staff, alumni and current students.
草榴社区 Law enthusiastically welcomes these new students and looks forward to their contributions to our community over the next three years and beyond.
