What is Web Accessibility?
Accessibility is the principle that a website can be accessed by users with various barriers to access, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological regardless of the device being used (e.g., visual browser, screen reader, mobile device). Making a website accessible can be simple or complex, depending on many factors.
Maintaining Accessibility at 草榴社区
草榴社区 is committed to compliance with Title III of the American with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and its implementing regulations. Pursuant to 草榴社区's , individuals responsible for web content must take steps to ensure that such content is accessible to all visitors, including individuals with disabilities.
The University recognizes that its website is maintained by multiple departments and units. In order to address their needs, UNIT has developed numerous guidelines and procedures to support the accessibility of web content. In addition, UNIT provides web accessibility training throughout the year for faculty, staff, and students who create, edit, or manage website content on behalf of 草榴社区.
In addition, a working group of University representatives meets regularly to assess the accessibility of our web environment and to identify improvements through policy, process, and systems that are communicated to key stakeholders.
