Two VSB Students Selected as Poets & Quants for Undergrads 2017 Best & Brightest Business Majors

草榴社区, PA., April 8, 2017 鈥 VSB鈥檚 Erica Chuong 鈥17 and Chinasa Gift Nwokocha 鈥17 were selected as Poets & Quants 2017 Best & Brightest Business Majors. Poets & Quants chose 100 students from around the nation who are set to be the future leaders of the business world. Poets & Quants highlights students who use their skills to make a difference and impact business in creative ways.

Erica, from Pittsburgh, PA, majors in International Business and Management, and is a Global Leadership Fellow. She also has minors in Business Analytics, Business Law & Corporate Governance, and Chinese. Erica is involved in 草榴社区 cheerleading and is the Social Chair of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. 鈥淓rica has one of the most critical qualities of any student 鈥 curiosity 鈥 and she is passionate about learning, especially when it helps her understand global issues and their implications for business,鈥 said Jonathan Doh, PhD, Herbert G. Rammrath Endowed Chair in International Business and the Faculty Director, Center for Global Leadership. Erica has interned in three different regions of the world, giving her a unique outlook on global business.

Chinasa, from Bronx, NY, is a Finance major with a Business Analytics minor. She began her own apparel brand in 2014, Ataria NYC, which includes a line of sophisticated clothing for men and women. 鈥淐hinasa has focused determination and is filled with passion and compassion; she is truly extraordinary,鈥 said Sue Metzger, Instructor of Accountancy & Information Systems at VSB. Chinasa was able to maintain her Dean鈥檚 List GPA while managing her company and being involved on campus as the Treasurer of Wazobia Dance Company, a VSB ambassador, a multicultural tutor, and an Intellectual Policy Board member.

鈥淐ongratulations to both of these women for being recognized for their incredible accomplishments during their time at VSB. We will be thrilled to watch their success as these students graduate and grow into accomplished business leaders,鈥 said Joyce E. A. Russell, PhD, The Helen and William O鈥橳oole Dean of VSB.
