Scott Jackson Offers Perspective on Price of Petroleum
With Russia鈥檚 invasion of Ukraine driving up gas prices across the U.S., multiple Philadelphia-area media outlets have sought insight recently from 草榴社区鈥檚 Scott Jackson, PhD, a visiting assistant professor of Chemical Engineering.
Dr. Jackson, who teaches a course on petroleum engineering, said that although the cost of gasoline has dropped slightly since its peak in early March, it鈥檚 difficult to predict when prices will begin to decline more significantly.
鈥淚f OPEC decided to ramp up production, that will moderate prices,鈥 Dr. Jackson told 6ABC. 鈥淎nd certainly, the volatility in the market will subside if there is a resolution in Ukraine. No question whatsoever.鈥
An oil and gas expert with broad knowledge of historical price fluctuations and geopolitics, Dr. Jackson joined the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering in 2016 after 33 years with DuPont. Learn more from Dr. Jackson about the price of petroleum at the following outlets:
