Dr. Patricia K. Bradley Selected to Mentor American Academy of Nursing Jonas Policy Scholars

Patricia K. Bradley, PhD, RN, FAAN, has been selected to serve on the American Academy of Nursing鈥檚 (AAN) National Policy Mentoring Council (NPMC), AAN announced May 20. She is associate dean for inclusive excellence and associate professor at the M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing and is a fellow of the Academy. As a mentor, she will help further understanding and engagement with the policy process.

Dr. Bradley will share her deep experience in advocacy and leadership as well as her knowledge of policy with one of the six new members of the 2021-2022 cohort of the Academy鈥檚 Jonas Policy Scholars Program, funded by a grant from Jonas Nursing and Veterans Healthcare, one of four impact areas within Jonas Philanthropies. As the AAN release explains, 鈥渢hrough professional development with NPMC, in-depth policy discussions, and an immersion session with prominent stakeholders, the Scholars will hone their skills to impact change鈥 across their two-year experience.

Dr. Bradley currently serves as chair of AAN鈥檚 Cultural Competence & Health Equity expert panel. The work of the panel is to advance inclusivity, social justice and health equity consistent with the academy鈥檚 mission to improve health and achieve health equity by impacting policy through nursing leadership, innovation, and science.
