Fitzpatrick College of Nursing announces continued accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education
草榴社区 M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing has again been reaccredited by the Washington, D.C.-based Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) which ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate, and residency programs in nursing. In an October 31 letter, Donna S. Havens, PhD, RN, FAAN, Connelly Endowed Dean and Professor, was notified by CCNE that the College鈥檚 baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master's degree program in nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice program and post-graduate APRN certificate program have been accredited for another 10 years, the longest period granted. The CCNE Board determined that the programs met all four accreditation standards and no compliance concerns were noted with respect to the key program elements.
The College鈥檚 PhD, nurse anesthesia and continuing education programs carry accreditations from other organizations.
In announcing the reaccreditation which followed several years of preparation of detailed documentation prior to the CCNE visit in February, Dean Havens said, 鈥淭hank you to our colleagues on- and off-campus, board members, alumni, and our faculty, staff and students who participated in the process. I鈥檇 like to especially acknowledge Drs. Bette Mariani and Lesley Perry who led our effort. I am grateful for everyone鈥檚 support and countless hours of hard work to ensure an exquisite document and profound experience for our visitors.鈥
She continued noting, 鈥淭his joyful news is the perfect prelude to the strategic planning work we have started to envision and then create the Fitzpatrick College of Nursing鈥檚 future impact on health and the nursing profession.鈥
